a few things
I am sad to have woken up this morning frozen and expecting some sort of sunshine. What a terrible tease the earlier weeks in March were. At one point, our days were 80 degrees...now they're entirely too wet or cold to venture outside. Therefore, I feel like throwing some sort of fit at mother nature? Perhaps I'll set fire to a forest? Luckily for me, I'm having a Yard Sale on Saturday [which is supposed to have sunshine] and currently needing to move all furniture and junk down from the attic to begin pricing. I mistakenly thought this weekend was Easter weekend and was concerned that no one was talking about it. Well, it's not. Easter is much later in the month and I'm truly glad about that. Who wants to have an easter egg hunt or take family pictures in our sundresses with this sort of weather? Not me. I'm not sure why I love the below picture, but it seems rebellious...and that is how I feel today.
* Another wonderful thing I discovered this morning is that we don't have an auction Friday night [which was stressing me out because of said yard sale the following morning]. Our next two auctions will be Friday, April 15th and Saturday, April 23rd. The one on the 23rd will be located on site in Leipers Fork - an estate auction! Those are the most fun, trust me.
* And finally, last night Carlye and I started Crossfit Music City in their On Ramp Program and I'm aching all over. We attend MON/WED/THURS nights at 6:00 pm and it is quite INTENSE. I've never done anything like this in my life. It truly kicked my ass...in a good way. The warm-ups take up the majority of the actual class - doing sit-ups, push-ups, rowing, etc. Then, they brought out the workout written on a dry erase board...
- 25m lunges holding 10lb weights over our heads
- 10 burpees

- 25m bear crawl [exactly what you're picturing]
- 20 tuck jumps

- 25m suicides
- 30 squats with a PVC pipe behind your head

I did all of this in 12 minutes...and subsequently collapsed. Yay, Crossfit.

fall or spring?
Although spring is on its way [fingers crossed], it will be fall soon in Australia. That just happens to be where Nicole, from Gary Pepper Vintage, resides. Therefore, her outfits are taking an autumn-inspired turn and I like it. I absolutely love this outfit - everything from the Alexander Wang bag alll the way down to her choice in lipstick. Perfection.

works of art
I recently updated my ipod which is something I haven't done in a while. I download music regularly but, because I never remove it from my car, my ipod is behind on the times [all of the time]. My favorite part about new music [besides the actual music] is the cover art. I love scrolling through cover flow and looking at all the beautiful album artwork. I've noticed that most pop and hip hop music have mediocre album covers [typically a picture of the artist, perhaps laying on an automobile?]. Therefore, instead of such covers messing up my beautiful coverflow, I promptly replace such nonsense with some sort of art or photo I find on the internet. I look for photos much more pleasing to the eye. I've noticed that I'm drawn to sketches and actual painted covers as opposed to photography. Watercolors have always been a favorite. This week, Fleet Foxes had their album leaked and I can't get over the cover art. It's beautiful. The album is very sleepy to me [in a good way]. It makes me want to lay in a hammock and soak in some sunshine.
Here are some other past album artworks I've enjoyed...HAPPY MONDAY!

lucky T H I R T E E N
This past Saturday, my sweet, little Ella transformed from an awkward tween with braces to an official TEENAGER and a fresh set of pearly whites [straight and everything!]. Okay, she actually got the braces off about a week ago but it was just in time for her important transition. We're all very proud. So proud, in fact, that she received a JUICY COUTURE purse cake - now that's fancy.

metal menagerie
Edouard Marinet creates these beautiful animalistic sculptures using everyday objects he finds at flea markets. You can tell what sort of pieces he looks for while scouring through metal mechanisms - typewriters, car lights, etc. The crazy part about his creation process is that he doesn't use a solder, but instead fits each piece together as if completing a puzzle. I would love to have one of the fish. Truly amazing.
